Great Pyrenees Rescue Southeast

Rescue. Rehabilitate. Rehome. Giving Great Pyrenees in the Southeast the Second Chances They Deserve

We're a volunteer-powered group saving majestic Pyrs from shelters and hardship—specializing in these gentle giants who make loyal family guardians and farm companions.

Why Great Pyrenees? Our Passion for These Fluffy Guardians

At Great Pyrenees Rescue Southeast, we're on a mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome these incredible dogs across GA, SC, NC, TN, and surrounding areas. Born as livestock protectors in the Pyrenees Mountains, Great Pyrenees are calm, loyal companions with hearts as vast as their double coats—but they often face challenges in shelters due to their size and independent spirit. As a volunteer-driven organization specializing exclusively in Pyrs, we pull them from high-kill facilities, provide vet care, training, and match them with families who appreciate their gentle temperament and protective nature. We have full 501(c)(3) non-profit status to expand our impact, but every day, we're saving lives through community support. Founded by Kenneth Roach, a Pyr enthusiast, our story started with one stubborn-but-sweet rescue who stole our hearts. Today, we're a growing network volunteers, vets, and advocates dedicated to ensuring no Pyr goes without a loving home.

Pyr Doodles Puppies - Pre-Adoption Available

These sweet F1b Pyredoodle puppies (75% Standard Poodle, 25% Great Pyrenees) are a gorgeous litter of 6 fluffy, curly-coated babies, ready to find their forever homes!Born to a devoted Pyredoodle mom (from a Pyrenees x Poodle pairing) and sired by a striking Standard Poodle with beautiful brown accents, these pups feature stunning colors: creams, apricots, browns, and eye-catching parti patterns. Their coats lean curly and low-shedding—thanks to the strong Poodle influence—making them a great option for families seeking more allergy-friendly traits while keeping that gentle, protective Pyrenees heart.Mom is a calm, affectionate girl who’s been an amazing mom, and she’s available for adoption too (perhaps with a pup or on her own for the perfect match).Tragically, their owner faced serious medical emergencies visits and could no longer care for the family. She reached out in distress, hoping to keep these young ones out of shelters. Though Pyredoodles are a bit outside our usual Great Pyrenees focus at Great Pyrenees Rescue Southeast, we stepped in because we couldn’t bear the thought of these gentle souls in tough situations. We’re committed to helping them find loving homes that appreciate their smarts, loyalty, and fluffy charm. At ~12 weeks old, these playful explorers are showing big personalities—some bold and zoomie-filled, others snuggly and chill—with doodle intelligence and Pyrenees gentleness already shining. They’ll grow into large (60-90+ lb), majestic companions ideal for active families, homesteads, or homes with space, kids, and maybe livestock once socialized. Expect trainability, family bonding, and that watchful guardian vibe.Fully vetted (vaccines, deworming, health checks, microchipped), ready to go!If you’re ready for a loyal, fluffy “gentle giant” with Pyr Strong™ spirit and doodle sparkle, apply today! These special pups won’t wait long—help give them the happy ending their owner dreamed of. 🐾💕

Ashe - Adopted

Meet 🌟Ashe🌟: A Loyal Protector Seeking His Perfect Match! 🐾Ashe is a 3-year-old neutered male Great Pyrenees – a true devoted guardian with that classic Pyr Strong™ heart. He’s incredibly loving and protective with his family (you can trust him completely), but true to his breed, he’s wary of strangers and territorial around his home – strong instincts that make him an excellent protector. He is excellent around chickens but shows some resource guarding with food with other animals, but with consistent, devoted guidance, these are easily workable – many Pyrs thrive with clear boundaries and positive reinforcement.Ashe would shine brightest as a family companion in an experienced home with secure fencing (trained with invisible fencing), room to patrol, and owners who understand and appreciate the independent Majestic Pyr™ nature.
If you’re ready to embrace the Pyr Mindset™ of commitment and training, Ashe will reward you with unwavering loyalty.

This gentle giant embodies Pyr Strong™ loyalty and the Majestic Pyr™ spirit – independent yet affectionate with his people. If you have a farm/rural property with livestock, secure fencing, and room for him to guard… Jake is your perfect partner!

Tucker - Adopted

Meet Tucker – The Goofy, Lovable Young Gentle Giant! 🐾❤️
Tucker is a stunning 1-year-old male Great Pyrenees (neutered) with a heart as big as his fluffy coat! This sweet boy came into his previous home at just 10 weeks old from a breeder and has been cherished ever since. He’s truly one of the most affectionate and joyful Pyrs you’ll ever meet—full of goofy charm, endless enthusiasm for play, and an incredible love for cuddles.
Tucker is a total character: he adores stuffed animals and balls, plays an epic game of tug-of-war, and how to play hide-and-seek—yes! He’s always up for adventure, especially road trips to snag a pup cup. At just a year old, he’s got that youthful energy typical of a young Pyr, but with the smart, eager-to-please brain that makes him a quick learner. He already knows sit, shake, and more, and picks up new commands easily—perfect for an adopter who wants to keep training fun and build even more tricks together.
Around other dogs, Tucker is a superstar. He lives harmoniously with a Golden Retriever at home and visits the dog park regularly (at least weekly), where he’s never had a single issue. He’s friendly, playful, and respectful with every pup he’s met—making him a great candidate for multi-dog homes or families with canine siblings.
His previous owner is surrendering Tucker out of pure love: they want him to have the space he deserves to run, romp, and stretch those long legs. Tucker thrives with room to explore—a securely fenced yard or land where he can patrol, play, and burn off his happy energy would be ideal. As a classic Great Pyrenees, he has that independent, protective spirit, but in a home that matches his needs, he’ll be your loyal, cuddly shadow.
If you’re looking for a Majestic PYR™ who’s equal parts playful goofball and gentle snuggler, Tucker is ready to steal your heart (and probably your spot on the couch)! He’s neutered, up-to-date on vetting, and waiting for his forever family.

Guarding the Guardians: Saving Southeast Great Pyrenees.

A rescue pulling majestic Pyrs from the brink—join us to secure their futures.

Our Mission

Great Pyrenees Rescue Southeast is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming Great Pyrenees in the Southeast U.S.—those noble livestock guardians traits are often overlooked in shelters. We bridge the gap for farm-surrendered, lost, or abused Pyrs, providing emergency care, rehoming placements, and education on their protective roles. Founded in 2025 by Kenneth Roach, a Pyr advocate with ties to ethical breeding (Lilly GP), our vision: No Pyr left behind in the Southeast's rural heartlands.

Our Background

As a startup rescue, we're volunteer-driven with a lean team. No salaries—100% of funds fuel the dogs. We've partnered with local vets for discounted care and farms for temperament testing, proving our ops in real-time. Our tax-deductible status is fully (501(c)(3) organization; all donations support our mission with full transparency via quarterly updates here.Avg Spend Per Dog: ~$900 on treatments, vaccines, spays, etc..
Community Reach: 101k+ views on social media posts weekly.
These numbers show our momentum—each Pyr saved diverts a guardian from euthanasia, reducing shelter strain by 20% in our pilot intakes. We're scaling to 50+ rescues in 2026, focusing on vulnerabilities like frost, malnutrition, and dangerous environment.
